I made my way to National Park Village this morning.
The plan is to Cross Tongariro either tomorrow or on Tuesday.

It will be an early start - 5:35am at the bus to the start location of the crossing.
Tongariro Crossing is a trail crossing over several craters and by several volcanos of a length of approx. 20km. The are steep gravel paths to hike starting at 1300m up to approx. 1800m as well as several craters to cross.

Today the weather is miserable one more time. The Crossing has been canceled due to gale winds. The temperature at red crater is about 3C.
Just Bermudas and Just Tees are not appropriate for tomorrow.
Lucky me that I was not planning to cross over today already.
Now I will stay here for two nights. National Park is a very remote WIFI Free area.
I am currently sitting in a cafe offering some WIFI service about 20km away from my overnight location.


The forecast for Tuesday sounds way better than for tomorrow. I will think it over to cross Tongariro on Tuesday. I want to get some sunny or at least good pictures , not just many more rainy or foggy ones. Important to mention that Tuesday will be the last good day again for several days.
And in all honesty I am fed up with rain and just strolling around the blocks and doing street photography.
I have made the conscious decision to drop the last week of vacation here in NZ.

I will move up to Auckland and will have my Tattoo session this Thursday.
I don’t want to fly Friday 13th, that’s why I changed flights for Saturday 14th.
