On the train back

Got dry again, after yesterday. The weather looked promising in Wellington, but was chaining back to overcast quickly.
I am currently evaluating fallback plans.

The weather forecast predicts a some nice days. The longer term trend will be wet though.
I may do something completely different after the next sunny days.

Today I am rolling back to Auckland on the Transcenic train, the Overlander.

I had some good conversation with Robert. He is from Belgium, an Electronic Engineer and user of my company’s tools.
He is currently looking for a job down here.
If he is lucky he will get a 2 year working visa and the chance to apply for residency after the two years.

Next seat on the other side of the aisle Selwyn Bailey aka Herewini Taitoko (his Maori name) was telling us about his life and his experience with Europeans.

We had a very entertaining train ride.

And there was Byony, a London based costume designer. She is looking for a job in Wellington.

New Zealand is not just worth the trip. We all agreed that it offers the positive part of the life style back in the 50s. Everything seems easy and relaxed. From all of our experiences a general aggressiveness present at over-crowded places is something mostly unknown down here.

Photos again were rare.

In absence of Mt. Ruapehu hidden behind clouds, a still of a towing service next to the train station.
The boat hasn’t seen water since some while - at least from the bottom side.
