The last couple of days showed mixed weather. Spent that time in Timaru.
An unusual couple...
Timaru offers an exhibition of ancient Maori stone painting.
Interesting to learn, that the Maori have hunted a bird called Moa, larger than a man. Mid 16th century, the last one was digested. At the same time the Haast Eagle has been extinguished.
The eagle was dependent on those large birds too. The eagle had a span width of approx. 3m. Still today Maori threaten their kids with stories about that bird catching small children.
