Rotorua Downtown

Heading for another relaxed day.
Some clouds in the morning, some rain in the afternoon have been forecasted.
Forecast was correct.

I strolled around the block in Rotorua for the morning.
At first I wanted some coffee and went to Starbucks.
All tables with cozy chairs have been taken. Only one was available where an elderly person was sitting and watching what was going on outside.
Margaret Hickson, her name, as she stated later on, was waiting for some shops to be opened and friends to return to Starbucks. I was taking the chair until someone else would pop up and claim it. But I didn’t want to have breakfast on the hard and uncomfortable wood chairs. It was just 9am at the time.

Isn’t it funny? Margaret, now 80 years old, was raised in Altrincham. That’s where my company has a subsidiary.
She was diving into her memories and enjoyed to talk about them. Her son still lives near to Manchester and has an Aerospace business. I figured him out via www and did send greeting from his mom. She was very moved, as she didn’t expect to be drawn into her memories this morning. „You made my day“.

I was sitting in the mineral pool during the rain session of the afternoon.
I was taking a nap after this hot session in the pool.

Pig & Whistle again. The bar tender this night was Manaia. His real name. A Manaia is a Maori spiritual being.
Part of my coming Tattoo will be a Manaia. That’s why he caught my interest.

Sitting with the band on their table.
Testing some available light shooting. This is not really my domain, but I got at least a couple of crisp shots.
